Digital Reporting & Legal Transcription Curriculum

This curriculum is designed to be taken by a person wishing to prepare for AAERT certification as a CER and CET (Certified Electronic Reporter/Transcriber). 

Individuals taking this course will learn about the court system, legal procedure, terminology, ethics, professionalism, confidentiality.

During the digital reporting portion of the course, students will learn how to cover all types of legal proceedings, including how to work with digital reporting software and equipment. There is no hands-on training with DR equipment within this website.

During the legal transcription portion of the course, students will gain the knowledge to format, transcribe, edit, and proofread legal transcripts for correct grammar, punctuation, and word usage.
